The Book has Arrived

I’ve been talking of writing a book for many years…it has lived inside my head for many more…I suppose at some point the moment I regained consciousness and began to realize the power of what had taken place and what was to come through this journey, I knew I would one day write this book.

It was meant for my kids.  An inspiration and message of hope to encourage them that no matter what life would throw their way, they could with faith, perseverance, fight and encouragement, survive…and not just survive, but thrive. But the more I shared this story meant for my kids and close to home for my entire family, the more I saw the encouragement it could be to others. And the more seriously I took the responsibility to share it with as wide of an audience as I could find.

Life is a gift.  And when you’re given a second chance, you see every sunrise and sunset as a fast-moving timeline of what is left.  And you wonder, did I do everything today that I needed to do so that if tomorrow doesn’t come, people will say I deserved the second chance?

So now, when I herd the news that my book was finally in print and (almost in Kindle format:)) I breathed just a little sigh of relief, thinking of how may ways I can now amplify my voice, so that if tomorrow doesn’t come, the message will live on.  Not just for my family, but for everyone to read.

Celebrate with me by purchasing an initial copy and then passing it on…so that others can hear the hope I’ve tried to capture.

Congratulations on your book, I can’t wait to read it! I don’t know if you remember me but I was one of the patient care techs in the burn unit when you were there. I can’t believe it has been 19 years since your accident. I still have the Angel ornament you made for each of us, I hang mine on my Christmas Tree each year.

Of course I remember you…how I cherish each of you who took care of me during those difficult times…you truly are angels to me! Sure hope all is well with you…hoping to get to Des Moines before too long to do a book signing and reconnect with so many friends! I’ll keep you posted…would love to see you!
